I’m Luis Gutiérrez, a Venezuelan tattoo artist based in Mooresville, North Carolina.
My work focuses on dark fantasy, black & grey, and custom medium to large scale tattooing.
Every piece is designed individually, built around the subject, the placement, and the natural flow of the body rather than forcing an existing design into a space.
I’m especially interested in medium and larger projects that give me enough room to develop composition, detail, contrast, and atmosphere while keeping the tattoo readable and built to age well.
My approach combines strong tonal values, heavy black, controlled stippling and soft shading with areas of bold contrast.
